Dr Moeti meets UN Country Team and Bilateral Partners in Ghana
The WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, has concluded her three-day visit to Ghana at the invitation of the Ghanaian Authorities. The visit provided an opportunity for her to acquaint herself with ongoing efforts, successes and challenges as the country strives to improve the health and overall well-being of Ghanaians.
Dr Moeti had a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team (UNCT). She reiterated that importance of Delivering as One UN and the need to improve coordination and collaboration among all UN Agencies to be able to achieve all SDG targets by the stipulated dates.
The Regional Director also granted an exclusive interview and interacted with a cross section of the Ghanaian Media, where she discussed pertinent health related issues such as Universal Health Coverage, Adolescent Health among others. Dr Moeti used that platform to articulate WHO’s work globally and within the African Region and its contribution towards the achievement of Universal Health Coverage
Later in the day, Dr Moeti met with bilateral and multilateral partners to discuss coordination of international health partnerships to support the health sector in Ghana.
